The German Tang Soo Do Association e.V. (DTSDV) is a member of the "World Tang Soo Do Association" (WTSDA), which has more than 160.000 members worldwide - around 5,000 Dan members and around 250 masters - in over 400 studios. The founder and longtime chairman of the WTSDA organization in the USA was Grandmaster Jae Chul Shin, the legendary coach of Chuck Norris. The current WTSDA chairman is Grandmaster Robert E. Beaudoin. In Europe, the Association has offices in Germany, France, Greece, Great Britain, Holland, Italy, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland. In Germany Tang Soo Do is spread since 1982.
In summer 1982, the Siemens Tang Soo Do Verein e.V. was founded and established as Tang Soo Do group in Judo Club Siemens München. From 1987 to 2003 it was as an independent association within the Siemens recreational community. From 01.10.2003 until the end of 2014 it was attached as division "Tang Soo Do" to the Siemens Active München e.V..
The Deutsche Tang Soo Do Vereinigung e.V. (DTSDV) was founded in 1995 and is a non-profit organization since 1999. Today the DTSDV practice the traditional Tang Soo Do in 16 clubs with about 600 active members in Bavaria and North Rhine Westphalia. The association is since 1999 an independent subject "Tang Soo Do" of the German Dan College (DDK) and the Budo Study Group (BSK). The tendency in the membership growth is constantly rising since the founding of the association. Each of the traditional martial art of Tang Soo Do enthusiasts is seriously quite welcome in our ranks. The DTSDV e.V. has set itself the task of spreading the Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do with their Far Eastern philosophy and its values in Germany.
